The Art of Spinner Fishing
With Rick Lawrence
Born and raised in Muskegon, Michigan – a 30-year Wolf Lake resident. I am 52 years old and have 27 years experience walking upstream in rivers and the creeks of Michigan.
I have a passion for this style of fishing. I'm the spinner fishing man. I fish for German river brown Trout and Brook Trout. They live their whole life in the river or creek. They don't migrate to the "Big Lake" (i.e. Lake Michigan). I mostly fish Northwest Michigan, lower peninsula.
I spinner fish Muskegon, Oceana, Newaygo, Lake, Mason and Manistee Counties, along with many other counties. Some of the rivers and creeks that I fish are as follows: Bigelow Creek, North Branch of the White River, North Branch of the Pentwater River, Little South Branch of the Pere Marquette, Middle Branch of the Pere Marquette, the Main Branch of the Pere Marquette, Baldwin River, Little Manistee River, the Au Sable River, Pine River Creek, and many others.
